Mo and her best friend, Dale—cofounders of the (probably) world-famous Desperado Detective Agency–know trouble as sure as they know the streets of Tupelo Landing, NC. But when they head to court as star witnesses against Dale’s no-good daddy - confessed kidnapper Macon Johnson - they face a new brand of trouble.

Mo can’t wait to get even with Mr. Macon for hurting the people she loves.  But Dale’s having second thoughts about testifying against his father.  The Colonel and Miss Lana, Mo’s family-of-choice, predict a slam dunk conviction - if everything goes as expected.

Of course nothing goes as expected and life in Tupelo Landing starts spinning sideways—fast. In no time flat the town’s in lockdown, Macon Johnson’s on the run, and Dale’s brother’s life soon hangs in the balance.

The Desperado Detectives, with intern Harm Crenshaw in tow, take on their toughest case yet. One they’d never want in a million years.

Good thing Mo’s always been lucky.
